Badlands

Was really looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint. Some absolutely beautiful shots of the badlands, and an unhinged couple where the man is a cold blooded killer. It’s a Bonnie and Clyde style story where Bonnie is more just a passive victim than anything else. A great film.

Badlands

Badlands is a great film to unwind with. The stunning natural scenery and beautiful atmosphere are what make the film so special, in my opinion. The story is also quite simple and accessible to everyone. I really enjoyed the soundtrack as well, so overall I have no complaints about the film. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite reach 4.5 stars because the story, for my taste, didn't offer enough depth.

Badlands

It's taken me 2 full days to fully process Badlands. There isn't much I can actually say about this film. Malick's shots were absolutely beautiful, as were the performances from Sheen and Spacek. The juxtaposition of violence in nature was truly brilliant. I can't believe this is actually the first Malick I've fully seen. I've tried to watch Days of Heaven many times, but I just kept getting distracted. After watching this, I need to pay closer attention to his work, since it honestly blew me away.
