Don't Look Now
Day 20 of 31 Nights of Halloween I’ve been waiting ages to watch this film, and I’m so glad that I finally had the chance to watch it. Once this film starts going, it never lets up, a relentless beast with some stunning performances and fantastic atmosphere. There are some equally stunning shots on location, really giving the film a more authentic, classic horror film. I can’t wait to revisit this film in the future, since I know that it is going to continue to grow on me.

the atmosphere in this one is really nice, simultaneously pretty and also spooky. good use of the color red as a recurring thing too. the editing is pretty good as well, especially with the cuts during the film’s famous/infamous sex scene. extra points for the ending which effectively pulls everything together in a satisfying, somewhat shocking even if it’s hinted at a lot beforehand.
Don't Look Now
weird but i liked it

Hooptober 12 (https://boxd.it/O4q2m) #25 of 33 • 4 of 4 films based on novels (https://letterboxd.com/gavinmcdowell/list/based-on-a-book/genre/horror/) AND 7 of 9 different decades (https://letterboxd.com/films/genre/horror/by/release/size/small/) (1970s) I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed. Doesn’t even get good until the last 20 minutes. Lame twist. Great editing tho. ** UPDATE: Downgrading this from 2.5 to 1.5 stars just because of how much it pisses me off.
