imagine calling your colleagues small petty men and then telling them that this will be your last conclave because you have no intention to ever attending again but they still elected you as the pope which meant this is still ur last conclave so u still got what u wanted but just in a different circumstance. cardinal benitez i wish you were real !!! also i really love that one scene with sister agnes where she dropped a bomb, bowed down, then walked off DIVAAAAAA!!!! also there’s a reason why its hard for me to trust priests…

Comecei assistir uns dias atrás e parei antes dos primeiros 20 minutos pq admito q n me prendeu, mas me esforcei e consegui assistir tudo. Esse “esforcei” dá a entender que o filme é chato e que me obriguei a ficar 2 horas assistindo… não é bem assim. Apertei o play pela segunda vez no intuito de preencher minha checklist do Oscar e fui cativado pelo drama nos 3 dias — se eu não me engano — de Conclave. Como é bom ter um gostinho do sabor das coisas que acontecem no Vaticano, mesmo que nesse caso seja ficção. Ver a fofoca correndo solta com os crentes é bom demais. É pipoco atrás de bomba e babado pra tudo q é lado, hahai! Agora entendi o pq da fotografia desse filme ser tão elogiada, merece.

seriously, this is my best 2024 movie release. my mother and i were on the edge of our seats for the better part of the third act and the last ten minutes had us completely GAGGED. the colours and absolutely gorgeous cinematography make this already interesting story even more enjoyable and good. the delivery of "Judas. Traitor." and then the italian cardinal hitting his vape had me laugh out loud. the second the movie ended, mother turned to me and said "wow it's been a while since i've seen a movie this good in theatres" and then thanked me for bringing her with me to experience this movie in theatres (she wanted to watch it but was planning on waiting until it would be playing on tv channels). also, having just finished my semester in art history where one of my classes was about late renaissance and mannerist art, i spent a third of the movie being in awe of the art (especially every time you could see the last judgement, which was one of the art pieces i had to memorize for my exams lol).
