Short films are always a treat to watch, especially short horror films. With full-length horror films, it's always hard to keep a tight script with enough scares to keep you on your toes the entire film. Mama happens to be one of those shorts that is absolutely terrifying in it's runtime, managing to keep you on your toes the entire time. The same thing can't be said for Andy Muschietti's full-length feature, despite it's few creepy scenes. Surprisingly, there were some genuinely frightening scene here, but those were far and few. The rest of the film was pretty much the introduction and other information, none of it really being that terrifying or interesting. The end of the film is one of the most important parts of the film, and it was sadly forgettable. The couple of good scares but nothing that was actually memorable. Mama could have been a great film but it really wasn't as memorable or terrifying as the short.
