Sorry if I'm exaggerating, but I've never cried until my chest was hurt and heavy just because of a poor family movie, I really felt the burden of Zain and Tigest. There are so many life lessons here and it will make you think about not getting married or having children before you are established, don't make your children the target of your anger or greed, the children in this movie seem to have matured by the situation and it hurts me to see it, but I was relieved with the ending especially when he took a photo for his passport, Zain's face showed "Bitch, I'm free!"

Capernaum
Capernaum has had a controversial past, which made me interested to watch it when I first heard about it at Cannes. It polarized critics, some claiming it was a masterpiece, while some saying that it was an unfair look at life. I can see where the latter comes from, but ultimately, this film shows the reality for many people. I don't think the filmmakers went out of their way to show just how bad their lives are, but was done to make the film more dramatic, but I don't believe that this film is outrageously out of proportion. It has some of the best acting from kids that I have seen, and some fantastic cinematography. It's not the most emotional film of the year, but is one of the better films of the year. Out of the four nominated Foreign Language films that I've seen nominated, this one was the weakest, but that's not saying much, since it really was a well-done film.
