Diary Entry forThe Tree of Life
The only movie where a dinosaur, the Big Bang, and daddy issues all show up uninvited.

The Tree of Life
The ham-hock whispered poetries here aren't my cup of tea, and Malick's "universal" tapestry-grafting of entire cosmological and evolutionary timeframes to an exceeeeeedingly narrow slice-of-white-life in the 1950's is a diminishment... but then the rushing force of Smetana's Moldau inevitably kicks in and I am bowled over once again by how gorgeous it all is. The kids are fantastic, Pitt's a force to be reckoned with, the light is filtered through every available leaf or billowing drape or lock of mother's hair, the camera at hip-height and chasing down all available Americana boyhoods. The direct 2001/Blade Runner/Star Trek connection of Douglas Trumbull for the cosmic imagery, coming 'round for more visual experimentation and imagination after three decades away? Fantastic!
The Tree of Life
this movie succeeds in telling a story without a bunch of talking, in every scene i can feel the emotions pouring out. that last scene did a number on me.
The Tree of Life
Finally i finishing this movie, this movie is like you're in philosophy class learning about human and life. I can't with this family cuz how their father thought them make them like that, the problem is at the dominance father. The movie feels surreal and hard to understand, kinda bored too but after that you'll be understand and maybe feels empty, the last scene is so aesthetically wonderful like "Am i in the heaven now?" Meaningful movie about life.
