Diary Entry forEric
The way they captured those emotions at the end really resonated with me. It was a sweet and satisfying conclusion that I won’t forget anytime soon!

83/100 Check out my 2024 ranked - boxd.it/shaTi (https://boxd.it/shaTi) By the end of it all, I was satisfied with what I got and that’s really the best compliment I can give this show. Benedict gave his best as usual and I have to appreciate every other actor in this show too. I’m glad they got the supporting characters spot on. I watched Dahmer recently and they really fucked up in that department. This show really progressed well. From highly unlikeable characters to relatively average writing and sequences in the first half, they really came through in the last 3 episodes. It’s rare to see a thriller with a happy ending these days at least for the titular characters. Of course the supporting characters faced the hardships but the whole ending was beautifully done. The whole sequence in Central Park was an acting masterclass by Benedict. Everything about that sequence was perfect. They really aligned everything well with the beginning. This show dealt with many complex topics as best as it could - racism, homophobia, corruption, poverty, addiction, grief and mental health. The actor who played the cop was really good, really sympathetic and really showed that he was constantly pressing down his emotions like he mentioned at the end. And the soundtrack wow, they really chose the best songs. The moment they played “I’m not in love” paralleling the Guardians of Galaxy opening scene, I knew the music is set right. It’s been a good watch.

Tedious and contrived. Everyone’s trying their best, but the material is just so poorly conceived.
