Sean Baker films don’t feel written, the way he captures raw, lived-in performances is nothing short of genius. This is what filmmaking is supposed to be.

Red Rocket

Sean Baker really love Bye Bye Bye didn't he? I like the color grading and the aesthetic of this movie, not the story, cuz the story kinda ewh to me actually. But that Piano part of Bye Bye Bye really powerful. Go Strawberry Go! 🍓

Red Rocket

It’s a testament to his charisma and talent that Simon Rex is likable for much of the film. Mike is hugely gross, and not really redeemable in any major way. I appreciate a film that doesn’t need to make its lead likable despite their flaws.
