Rocky III

Rocky III is faster, more energetic, and leans more into spectacle than the earlier films. The rivalry with Clubber Lang is intense, and the training and fight scenes are a lot of fun. Overall, Rocky III is a very entertaining sequel that brings fresh energy to the series.

84/100 I love this film. It’s the first Rocky film whereby the supporting cast actually gives solid performances by which I mean Carl Weathers and Talia Shire of course. The entire scene with Hulk Hogan was pure fun. And of course the intense training of Apollo and Rocky is one for the ages. And as Carl Weathers himself said, it was good to see Apollo humanised and his character actually explored and the development of his friendship with Rocky was special and integral to the film. Talia Shire actually had to act in this film, well express herself I’d say.  And of course I love the fact that Rocky figured out something during a match for the first time completely by himself and also that they used some strategy rather than the usual stamina and last round knockout story.
