Slow West

Beautifully shot, but sadly slow. I found myself actually getting bored about halfway through it. I don't know why, but I just couldn't get into this film. It was a really good film, but I just wasn't interested. It's an interesting western, but I just didn't fancy it as much as I hoped I would.

Talk about salt in the wound amirite? This is a very good film. Beautifully shot, nice script, great performances. Really had a great time with this.

i haven’t watched many westerns quite honestly. so, i can admit i didn’t have the best framework while approaching this film. is it a good western? i couldn’t tell you. but i can tell you that as a more character focused film, it hit the mark for me. even with a rather short runtime, the pacing was perfect. the build was slow but it never dragged, the story allowed for jay and silas’ individual characters and their relationship to breathe and be revealed without needing to just spell everything out for the audience. while there were definitely some areas that could have benefited from being fleshed out more, such as how jay knew exactly where rose was and how everyone seemed to know to follow jay to her, they do not greatly hinder the watching experience. the dynamic between jay and silas truly just made the whole film for me.

Slow west es un western con una estructura clásica bastante impredecible que usa de manera correcta sus personajes como punto giro,una pieza digna de aplaudir creada por un director que busca su lugar en el cine con propuestas arriesgadas.
