Watched this on Valentine’s Day but left my review to a couple days after so I could really let this sink in. I think it’s no exaggeration to say that Madame Web is quite possibly the worst film ever made. I also think there is a good chance no film will ever be as bad as this. They used an $80million budget and a talented cast to create one of the stupidest movies ever. There is literally so much wrong with this movie I could write a dissertation on it. It’s absolutely awful. The person I went to watch this with gave it a 5 star review, which I can completely understand as this is one of the funniest films ever… to laugh at. It’s so bad it’s a joke, and a pretty funny one. I understand looking at it from both sides but for me I truly believe this could’ve actually been a fun time. As mentioned the cast is pretty great, minus the villain, but they are all terrible in this. Not a single good performance. The villain, Ezekiel, is by far the worst though, he delivers lines asif he’s an AI bot and he shows no emotion throughout the entire thing. The villain doesn’t do anything remotely entertaining, just slowly walks towards the girls and climbs walls. It’s so stupid. The scene where all three girls get on a table at a random restaurant and start dancing for a group of lads is so absolutely absurd it’s a joke. Maybe it’s the director’s fantasy? Who knows but I genuinely believe there is more chance of the sun exploding than this happening in real life. For me, this was the most unbelievable and ridiculous thing in the film. Also, why the fuck are the hero’s only shown in their costumes for about 30 seconds during the entire film? Like genuinely what? This alone could’ve made it 10x better. The script is the worst I’ve ever seen. The dialogue and delivery is horrendous. Everything about this sucks. Even the ‘fight’ at the end is just the girls running around and screaming. Its so anti-feminism but I don’t think the people making that realised. To me this film is borderline sexist. It’s actually so bad. I can’t comprehend how bad it is, especially for the budget. Rant over.
