Om Shanti Om
❝Life is like a film, it always has a happy ending; and if it's not happy, the film isn't over yet, my friend!❞ · · ────── •⊰✧⊱• ────── · · I went through a phase a couple of years ago where the only thing I watched was this film. I don't watch a lot of Bollywood compared to Telugu and Tamil films, so for me to become so enamoured is quite rare. I know exactly what happens scene by scene, but every time I see it it's still absolutely magical. SRK and Deepika Padukone are such a good duo (would they have done so many films together if they weren't?) and Arjun Rampal pulls of the cold, calculating villain really well. Farah Khan's excellent directing brings everything to life; the bright, lovely colours and outfits, the meticulously choreographed dancing and celebrity cameos ('Deewangi Deewangi' is so much fun to watch for those reasons exactly), and the fantastical plot that's easy to get sucked into. The soundtrack is a slapper through and through, from lively disco to dramatic storytelling that makes me cry every time. Om Shanti Om is something else, truly, and I love it.
