A spectacular film, giving insight into a woman's trials and hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. Reese Witherspoon did an amazing job! I was really surprised at how well she played Cheryl. The rest of the cast was just alright, but they were nothing compared to Witherspoon. I wish they had left some of the things from the book in (like her other brother or other hikers), but it didn't take away from the film. I enjoyed how it was more straightforward and to the point, instead of going off for periods of time on how things were before the trail. The short segments that were pre-trail really made this film great. Wild was an extremely gripping film, truly showing the trials of a woman attempting to reconstruct her life. Reese Witherspoon did a fantastic job portraying Cheryl, and the film was one of the best of 2014.
