- i really love this movie, especially as the final installment of the original run. but, it hurt a bit, seeing how the movie handled the final fight between rocky and tommy. - the whole time, to me, the stakes were high: the possibility of rocky facing permanent and fatal brain damage, and how it affected him on a deep level; the risk of losing his blood son over his protégé; rocky losing tommy, who he sought success through, but also wanted to save. - it all felt so real and genuine, especially--as always--with the heart that stallone and shire brings as rocky and adrian, even moreso when raising their son at a rough point in their lives. - but, that final fight, y'all. - it just didn't sit right with me.
