The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
Noah Baumbach has done it again; he's created one of the most intimate and personal films I've seen in such a long time. I adore films that really give you a glimpse into the lives of people who you feel could be real, not really characters but just watching people live their life. And what a surprise how life is for the Meyerowitz family, played by the amazing Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller, Elizabeth Marvel, and the surprising Adam Sandler. There's really only been one film that I've enjoyed Sandler in (that being Punch-Drunk Love), but now I can say that I loved him here. It's surprising to see that Sandler has stuck to his typical comedies, since he really has the potential to be a fantastic actor. With all of these realistic characters, it seems like this is Baumbach's most humane and accessible film to date, where Mistress America and Frances Ha are different, as they really do show the life of a Millennial, where this shows the older generation as the focal point, rather than focusing on a younger female. The Meyerowitz Stories is one of this year's best films, both in writing and acting, as all of the actors were literally at the top of the game the entire film. I can't wait to see what else Baumbach has released, since I have absolutely adored every film he has released that I have seen.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
The Year is 2017: Ranked and Reviewed (https://boxd.it/1aqJG) Another funny and lighthearted piece of conversation from Noah Baumbach—this one recounting family drama with its tinges of whimsical affairs and success. The troubles of finding a park in Manhattan, attached with all its construction and traffic, opening viewers to a kinetic relationship between father and daughter, and then letting go of it to pursue another father and children relation. The Meyerowitz Stories is rich with the best of Baumbach's comedy, entwined with some pretty miraculous performances—Adam Sandler is outstanding (seriously, the man has always been a wonderful actor despite the many downfalls) and Dustin Hoffman is hysterically good in his role as the father. Its somewhat nostalgic at points, exposing the re-connection between siblings and doing the things you use to do together while also moving on at the same time. Its touching and hilarious, perhaps the most sincere thing Baumbach has done. 4.3/5
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
El elenco poco fiable en este genero parece un mal chiste, pero contado desde la voz de Noah Bambuch este chiste tiene un valor sentimental bastante interesante,la historia es cautivadora y dinámica, las interpretaciones apasionantes y la historia bien construida.
