Death Proof

I watched on International Women’s Day without releasing, which is cool because this is one of the greatest women empowerment films ever made. The film feels like a fever dream throughout, almost not real, but I’m glad it is. It’s so unlike anything else Tarantino has done and I love it for that. The story is pretty much split into two half’s and the pacing is strange, but this is more than made up for in a few of stellar scenes. The jukebox lap-dance is fantastic, the music playing and whole feel of the bar. The final car chase and brutal murder of Stuntman Mike is also absolutely fantastic. Zoë Bell is hard as nails and her performance in this is good fun. A pretty great film.

Haha, wow. Like it was dedicated to being ass. "But the last 15 minutes" my foot, what is there to even salvage. Wow.

O exorcismo visceral de todas as suas compulsões e fetiches cinematográficos elevados a última potência: a película desgastada, a textura granulada da imagem, os totens culturais, a música, o movimento descontrolado de cada signo e a combustão espontânea de todos esses fatores. A paixão do cineasta pelos cinemas grindhouse e exploitation assimilada pelas obsessões que o consolidaram na indústria. O "VHS Edition" da sua filmografia.
