❝A little magic can take you a long way.❞ 𐄁─────⋆⁺‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧⁺⋆─────𐄁 I absolutely adored the book when I was younger, but I didn't remember much about the film adaptation, so I decided to give it a watch. And suffice to say James and the Giant Peach is simultaneously terrifying and lovely. The mix of live-action and stop-motion is so cool, and works well to separate James' miserable life with his aunts and his adventure with the giant insects. Overall the cast did an excellent job, and in my opinion James' aunts were really good antagonists. Some of the stop-motion designs were genuinely creepy, especially the Grasshopper and the Centipede, not to mention James himself. I wasn't a huge fan of the music, though, and the ending felt a bit rushed after the introductory scenes leading up to the peach rolling away took so long. All in all, it's not the best Roald Dahl adaptation, but it's still pretty enjoyable, and surprisingly scary.
