I have seen this probably a hundred times and I never like it until now. Still doesn’t compare to how good the book is though.

Pretty good, although I found it strange how Voldemort is just completely missing from this addition. Feels like a filler episode but a pretty good one, and Dumbledore dies which was done well, still don’t think Snape is what he appears to be, I can see a twist coming.

Uma pena que a reta final da franquia foi dada na mão do Yates. Já achava Ordem da Fênix fraco, com o diretor tão focado em pular etapas e apressar um núcleo político, aqui então... Não ironicamente ele tem momentos isolados funcionais, a forma como ele passeia por cenários que antes eram brilhantes e vistos em uma ótica de encantamento infantil, como o beco diagonal, são muito bons. Mas infelizmente são momentos isolados, Yates não consegue criar um conjunto de idéias que forme uma minha concisa e isso vale pra todo o filme. Para um filme de 2h20 ele não conta muita coisa e a dramedia adolescente é falha, Yates é um péssimo diretor de atores e nem é por primeiro contato, ele tava no controle do filme interior e até o final trágico não tem uma conclusão muito concisa, o diretor parece emular um sentimento de luto e de virada dramática, mas é tão qualquer coisa. Enfim, esse aqui e o 5 são os mais fracos dessa franquia.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Watched it again on television. What a trip. Couldn't remember half of it, and the other half I could remember was butcher-cropped right down the middle of the face thanks to the revised aspect ratio-- truly depressing. And those countless advertisements between every key narrative moment... how do people survive?! Faulty memory notwithstanding, this is my favorite of the Potter movies, 95% of the reason for this being Jim Broadbent (English old man-crush extraordinaire), 3% for the delicious scenic quality and widescreen composition (where available!), and 2% Michael Gambon snarky-snarking and hamming it up.
