I have borne the very wrath of God, chosen to suffer like no man before.❞ 𐄁─────⋆⁺‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧⁺⋆─────𐄁 I only watched this film because I saw an edit of it on TikTok, and I've come to the conclusion to never trust those kinds of edits ever again. The story wasn't even mildly entertaining, the fight sequences had bad choreography, and Gerard Butler was a painfully mid Dracula with a terrible backstory. The run-time was only an hour and a half but it felt like a decade had passed before the credits started rolling. Christopher Plummer was wasted on this snoozefest, and I'm never watching it again.

Of the numerous things here that haven’t aged well (aside from Danny Masterson), the film focusing so much on a Virgin Megastore has to be way up high.

“Sorry sport, I'm an Atheist.” Apparently, I have seen this film before. The memories unlocked while I was watching and you know what? It makes perfect sense. A little gay boy with a library card and minimal parental supervision in the 00s watching “Wes Craven’s”DRACULA 2000? Likely thing for him to do. Also likely that he’d forget it because much of the movie is very that—forgettable. However, years later, I now know what nostalgia is and unfortunately this film checks all those nostalgic turn of the century boxes for me—the leather pants, the nu metal needle drops, the corny/camp dialogue (that reminded me so much of Scream i laughed out loud several times), the cordless house phones (no cell phones just yet!) and of course, emo/goth vampires. It should be noted, for those who care, that I actually prefer this to Queen of the Damned. That’s a movie that is very similar and features my mother Aaliyah but has none of the humor in this one. What really made me guffaw while watching this is that Dracula is none other than…Judas Iscariot? Hello Zepp should have played during the reveal because that’s exactly how I felt while taking in the information. I sort of think…it’s a bit genius, not going to lie! Certainly not the best Dracula movie (i have apparently made it my spooky szn mission to watch as many Dracula adaptations possible?) but definitely the most fun for me. It feels like a Dracula movie by way of Scream and that is just completely my thing, not even going to apologize! Plus, the final needle drop may have changed the trajectory of my life back when I first watched it. I don’t remember but it would be funny if it did, right? “Everything you say to meeeeeee, Takes me one step closer to the edge, And I’m about to BREAK!”
