Passage of Venus
1874. 142 years ago. It's astonishing to think that this existed back then. Photography was finally starting to become big, and film was on it's rise. Passage de Venus shows the beginning of something that would take over the world. It's amazing.
Passage of Venus
This is actually where it all begins. 14 years before people were even filming themselves walking in gardens, they were pointing a photographic revolver at the sky to catch a glimpse of Venus. It’s only six seconds long, but there’s something heavy about watching a piece of the universe captured from 1874. It’s not a story or a drama; it’s just the raw curiosity of wanting to see the world in motion for the first time. It makes you realize that cinema didn't start with actors it started with us just trying to understand the stars.
