Well that was disappointing… Probably the most creative traps in the entire franchise. Better editing, still that piss yellow-hue though, sad. I didn’t like Chris Rock as the lead. Hear me out, but I think his voice is too distinctive. It almost was distracting. His acting was terrible, also. Same twist as the last three movies, BORINGG. Also, stop letting actors star in movies they executively produce!!

Spiral: From the Book of Saw
Sprial: From the Book of Saw is a servicable entry into the Saw franchise, allowing new voices to be projected into the series, while bringing some new and honestly fun traps. That being said, the film does have some significant problems, especially when it comes to the script. Most of the dialogue was difficult to sit through, and some of the acting was questionable at best. But then again, it is a film from the Saw franchise, so you shouldn’t be expecting the best script and the best acting out there. I still ended up having a good time and enjoying what the film brought to the table, so I’m excited to see what comes next for this franchise.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw
There's a big thing I should address before getting into this review. I haven't seen a single film in the "Saw" franchise, however I know a lot about the plot details and all of the iconic things from the series (Jigsaw, cutting the leg off, Billy, etc). That didn't hinder my theater experience though because the film loosely references the other installments. This film is not that good. The editing is wack and should have been left in the early 2000s. Chris Rock is like - really bad in this movie. Like it baffled me. On top of that, the movie barely has any "survivable" traps and the Jigsaw Killer voice is non-threatening and weak. The best parts of this movie were Samuel L. Jackson, the ending (which plays Charlie Clouser's amazing "Hello Zepp" - now turned "Zepp Nine"), the sly little Pulp Fiction reference and the fact that I saw it in IMAX with my girlfriend. I've missed the whole "going to a theater with someone and getting popcorn and candy - normally I opt for just a drink). Overall, it was a meh movie but a fun theater experience
