Had a random side quest with Michael seeing who could keep their leg still during the songs. Neither of us won. Felt more like a concert than a film basically a docu-concert. Jafar Jackson leans into imitation over performance,he’s entertaining and nails Michael Jackson’s style, but his acting isn’t strong yet feels like he’ll just be seen as Michael if that doesn’t improve. Colman Domingo excels though, easily the standout. It plays more like a docu-series mostly concert footage with a few behind-the-scenes bits, but no real depth or insight into him. The review bombing feels overblown, even if it doesn’t fully come together. Still, it was a good time worked best when it leaned into the concert vibe.
