Goodnight Mommy

Goodnight Mommy is one fantastic film. That is, the Austrian version is a fantastic film. For some reason, executives decided that this was a film that needed to be made. I’m here to tell you, just as most others have said, there is literally no need for this film to exist. There’s a perfectly capable, and quite well-done, film already, so why does it have to be remade into the English language? Naturally, Naomi Watts is the hightlight of the film. She is the sole reason for my watching of the film, and I’m happy to report that she indeed is worth the watch. That being said, there’s not much else to enjoy here. It’s the same exact film as the original, but manages to tone down the darkness and despair from the first film. The first film is a gnarly one, offering stomach-churning imagery with a coldness that perfectly suited the plot. This one, however, manages to take that away, offering a husk of a film with a solid performance and nothing else to give. Am I glad this film was made? Not necessarily, but I’m glad that we got to see another pretty good performance from Watts. It’s just a shame that the first film couldn’t have been left alone, where it was felt there was a need and desire to have this film made again, when there really is no reason at all for it to have been made. Watch it if you want to, but defintely be sure to catch the original film, since it is above and beyond the heights that this film attempts to reach.

Esse filme é bem agoniante, mas no sentido de que ele te deixa bem confuso com tudo que tá acontecendo. Eu de fato fiquei apavorado pelo Elias, pq eu sentia que tava tudo meio errado com todos ao redor deles, e isso pode ser levado como um ponto bom. O filme não tem uma boa trilha sonora e deixa muitos pontos em aberto, que tem explicações, mas ainda sim esse pontos se tornam rombos na narrativa que não me agradaram de fato. Além desse final, é um pouco assustador e me deu agonia pelo personagem, eu não sei o que eu faria no lugar dele. Não é grandes coisas, mas é uma experiência a se ter. É um filme razoável. Preciso ver o original de 2014.

Matta Sobelbse se lanza la soga al cuello con un remake que prende de un factor sorpresa en este caso inexistente debido a lo obviedad con la que desarrolla la relación entre sus personajes Naomi Wattson puede comprometerse lo suficiente como para no convertir la película en un desastre inminente, pero aún así buenas noches mami deja debiendo bastante.
