You don’t belong to people forever. Caramba, que filme perfeito! A fotografia do filme, em conjunto com a trilha sonora, formam uma atmosfera extremamente agradável e confortável, onde tudo se encaixa perfeitamente. Até a época em que foi gravado ajuda na criação do sentimento de aconchego em que a obra transmite. Não imaginava que Shelterseria do jeito que foi. A delicadeza e cuidado com que o filme foi feito é perceptível desde os segundos iniciais e, ao decorrer da história, isso se torna ainda mais notável. A forma em que os personagens aceitam a pessoa que o Zach é o ajuda a perceber que não tem nada de errado com ele, e ver os amigos apoiando-o e, mais tarde, ele se aceitando, foi muito lindo de assistir. Por fim, é uma história muito bonita e um filme incrível, gostei demais. — What changed? — I did.

SHELTERis another film that was formative to closeted me way back when. In my Dare (https://boxd.it/4kGSfl) review I spoke of how sadness and gay stories went together hand-in-hand in the 00s. That still remains true. But there were a few films like this one, where the ending—and the film as a whole, felt optimistic. Uplifting. Obtainable. I also watched this at a time when I was obsessed with the O.C. so that was yet another reason why I enjoyed it. That being said, everything from the acting to the writing to the directing is mediocre and borderline amateurish. I can see why the leads retired from acting and the director has done nothing of note since 2007. It was will always have a soft spot in my heart though, I will always feel intense nostalgia when I watch it, and the relationship dynamic did open a door in my mind that has never been shut, so. It’s not all bad.
