Licorice Pizza

There is lots to love in PTA’s Licorice Pizza. The acting is pretty great, story flows very well and it’s surprisingly funny most of the time. What I can’t get behind is the 15 year old and 25 year old being in a relationship. Even if they were just friends it would be weird. However, they’re not just friends, they kiss and the girl says I love you, which is just so so wrong. It’s not cute, even if you think the boy is mature, it’s still disgusting. Apart from the blatant double standards this film holds up, it’s a fun watch if you can ignore the age difference. If the boy was aged 18 then id of given this film a 9/9.5, and in my opinion it wouldn’t of hurt the story. I don’t support grooming of any kind.

You know how you fillet a fish? I feel like that's what was done to us, for two hours. And I think I loved it. But also? But also?! Cooper Hoffman's character spiritually correlating to his dad's "Mattress Man" in Punch-Drunk Love. All "Gary Valentine" needs is another 80 ventures to go belly-up, some really bad heart aches, and we're bridging the enormities of cinema itself. Ok goodbye, I'm going to go cry some more.
