Paddington

For a long time, this movie has been on my watchlist because of the movie "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" where it's stated multiple times that Paddington 2 is one of the greatest movies. This piqued my interest, but I just never got around to watching either Paddington 1 or 2. That was until I heard that Paddington To Peru was going to hit theaters soon so I watched this movie two days ago. Going into it, I didn't think this would be my type of movie so expectations were a little low. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This movie was very wholesome and shockingly hilarious for a film made for children. Usually the humor is terrible to sit through but this was one of those cases where the movie was legitametly funny. I also very much so liked the characters and I thought they were all somewhat interesting. I think some characters could've had more development such as Ms. Brown, but they was still fun to watch. The plot was also really good. One of my biggest issues with this film is how no one questions that a bear is talking at any point within the film despite no one knowing about the explorer's video. As if it's to be expected. Which ties into my next issue that the actions that occur never get a realistic response. I would NOT keep a bear in my house if it transported my tub into my kitchen from flooding the bathroom. It's just too ridiculous. But if ridiculous fun is the type of movie you're looking for, Paddington might be perfect for you. For me, this is an 8/10.
