i was not expecting to love this movie so much, since it didn't seem like a movie that i would love after seeing the trailer. but this movie fascinated me from the beginning, from its beautiful colors done subtly, interesting plot and script, and the characters! especially old dolio, played by the amazing evan rachel wood! i love westworld, so i wasn't surprised at all that her performance in this is absolutely spectacular! and her chemistry with gina is really amazing too! i highly recommend you guys giving this a watch if u haven't! and to my usa friends, congrats on taking that trash out!! please stay safe and take care of each other in the coming weeks/ months! 💞

Kajillionaire is an odd watch, with many moments that linger on to the point where you’re wondering exactly why it was being done. The performances are solid around the table, with Evan Rachel Wood definitley being the one in the spotlight, and the direction is fine, it’s just far too awkard for my taste. Maybe it’s a film that needs some time to grow on me, and I’d like to revisit it in the future, but I’m still left a bit confused and feeling awkward.

Yeah, I'm not the first to say that 2020 was complete shit, but I think there are only a rare few who can admit that they've made something out of it. Or have taken something from it, what little joy or pleasure from it at all. I don't know what Miranda July was trying to give me here. it borders on earnesty I can't decipher as genuine or false, navigating through character I don't trust, but know that they have so much heart. Because I've read Miranda July. "No One Belongs Here More Than You" was the pinnacle of human understanding for me. It allowed me to look at characters, the invention of them, in a different light, and reading that for the first time feels like this film. Although, "The First Bad Man" (which felt cinematic in itself), felt like the first draft to what this is. It's amazing that July can flip-flop between the novel and the medium of film so effortlessly through her characters and her narrative, the things they say mixed with the things they carry. Strangeness topples over strangeness in poetic clumsiness and I'm not mad at all in getting lost in the strange backdrop that is LA itself. Miranda, let's poop back and forth forever, together.
