“i will take my birth as a man in my next life. will you elope with me then?” “no. i want you as kanchan even in my next life” this might not be a perfect movie but god was it beautifully done. there was this scene where pallavi and tara are having a confrontation about being a lesbian and pallavi just screamed that she’s a lesbian with her back facing on an open closet and it just feel so poetic. like for the first time in more than 30 years she was telling her truth and that was the start of her journey to accepting herself. to her telling her husband that she will never love him, to telling her daughter that her truth should be told at her own pace, and to telling her son that she would happily fail the test if they asked her if she had ever loved a woman. i wish we get more sapphic love stories between middle aged women because there’s so much story that can be told.

❝It's my truth. When, where, why and whom I share it with is my decision.❞ 𐄁──── 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.────𐄁 I'm not sure how to describe the vibe Maja Ma gives me. The best way to put it is by quoting an article I read that said it's 'a queer film targeted towards a straight audience'. That's not to say it's a bad film, though; just the acting from Madhuri Dixit is enough to carry the entire thing, but there's lots of elements that work well together. I really liked the glimpses of Pallavi and Kanchan's younger years, but there should've been way more, although I loved the scenes with the older versions too. Apart from them, I'm not exaggerating when I say every single character was rage-inducing, especially Pallavi's loose-lipped traitor of a daughter. But, overall, I think this a pretty good film all things considered, and it still made me cry buckets. ❝I want you as Kanchan, even in my next life.❞
