the way this movie started with tana feeling tired, lost, and grieving and ended with tana wearing her grandmother’s dress taking in the scenery, breathing, still grieving, but also healing. like i just love how they showed the journey of life by driving through it (road trip), which leds her to reconnect with her family, reconnect with her roots, meet new people, and ending that journey at big bend where she opens her grandmother’s briefcase full of trinkets and memories including the dress she’s wearing in the photo tana has been holding on to. its just truly a beautiful depiction of life, grief, and healing.

The Unknown Country

a beautiful tale about grief and how one deals with it through reconnecting with their roots. i love lily gladstone's acting so much and this is what this movie offers paired with beautiful shots of the american country and a nice score.
