This is one of the best looking and sounding films I’ve seen all year, beautifully rich colours and a subtle score which slowly draws you in. The films two hour run time goes in a breeze, but that’s thanks to how immersive the story feels. David (Alan Kim) is somebody who adds comedy and really grounds the films into reality, at 7 years old he manages to steal the show. The Grandma (Youn Yuh-jung) is also great, adding further elements of realism and relatability to the film. The conflict between the leads is also done very well, with a real scene of tension between them whilst also being in love. The heartbreak of the fire certifies this film as the beauty that it is, and in some respects I wish the film ended with the fire. A very good film. Watched at Showroom, Sheffield, with my beautiful.

Minari is wonderful. I don't feel like a same person again after seeing this, this movie is so asian-family coded. Moving to another country always not easy at first, always got something problem we must take, especially for a foreigner. Btw, YOU MAKE ME SOBBING AND DEPRESSED WHILE WATCHING THIS. I want some beautiful kind like family movie not this beautiful depressed family movie 😭😭
