"They died in a plane crash... those things just happen." Had no idea this would employ the classic "hero from another dimension dropped into present day" trope—and in this case, it's the Dolph Lundgren vehicle He-Man and his friends walking the desolate streets of nightime Los Angeles in search of a Japanese synthesizer. Fast, zippy, and soulless superhero entertainment! I hope they sold a shit ton of toys when this came out because some of those kids could have made a better story in their bedroom than this. Still, I had a fun time with how laughable it is at times—my favorite moment being He-Man gliding effortlessly on a levitating roomba while in a weird sitting pose. That's cinema, baby.
