esta é uma das obras mais lindas que já assisti. o filme possui um lado sombrio que chega a ser inquietante, mas, ao mesmo tempo, é absolutamente fascinante. o tom surrealista é o que o torna tão fiel à essência de Alice. como sou apaixonada pela obra original, sinto que o Švankmajer captou perfeitamente o onírico e o bizarro do conto, transformando-o em uma experiência visual incrível através do stop-motion. a união perfeita entre duas coisas que amo: o universo de lewis carroll e o cinema surrealista.

I don't know what it is about it, but I really loved it, to be honest. I haven't read the book or seen the Disney animated movie (I think I've seen the live-action ones, though), but I found this one really interesting, and I loved that it was done in a kind of stop-motion style. It has something very strange and very special at the same time, as if you were watching a slightly uncomfortable dream but one you don’t want to wake up from. Plus, that very artisanal style of animation gives it so much charm and makes everything feel even stranger and more hypnotic.

when lewis carroll wrote alice's adventures in wonderland, this is exactly what he imagined what it would look like in a film. i would know that because he told me himself. the art directory in this one was a guy smoking weed and envisioning things.

In my view, Alice is the definitive Alice in Wonderland. The surrealism and imagination derived from ambiguous puppets and set designs is a wondrous fascination. The white rabbit is still a worrying mess and in this one certainly creepy, largely in part of its stop-motion movement and beady eyeballs. Aspects of the film can be very playhouse but the dreamlike everything is almost adultish. I can imagine a child seeing this, either absolutely tormented or in awe.
