March Around Cinema '24 (17/30): Czechoslovakia 🇨🇿. The sci-fi opera before 2001: A Space Odyssey. A gem from communist Czechoslovakia, very much like a countercurrent to the B series cinema of the country itself, a fascinating work where the themes about the human race and the criticism it contains of society in the 20th century, highlighting more the human aspect in the crew of the ship IKARIE XB 1, and later fascinating sci-fi works, such as Kubrick's own 2001 or Tarkovsky's Solaris. Forgotten at the time, gaining a legendary cult status, this is a work that is worth seeing more for the impact it had in the Czech Republic and for the audiovisual section that does hold a discovery in itself.

Uma das coisas mais interessantes de assistir filmes de ficção cientifica antigos é observar como era a visão deles de futuro e perceber como nós, humanos, temos a mania de espelhar aquilo que conhecemos no universo. Isso quando o universo é uma infinitude de mistérios. Ikarie XB 1 mostra um pouco do medo do desconhecido, como mesmo dentro do conhecido o universo pode achar formas de surpreender. Além disso, é possível ver que a vontade do humano de explorar e morar dentre as estrelas sempre existiu. Um filme simples na sua premissa, mas muito bem feito, inclusive quando paramos para pensar que foi feito em 1963.
