The Beach

Obviously, I watched this freaking movie just for my king DiCaprio, even though it's weird, I still managed to sit through it.

The Beach

dvd that has been collecting dust on my shelf #4 First off I just wanna thank the GTA 5 developers for putting the song Pure Shoes by All Saints to their soundtrack on Non-Stop Pop (the song was used when Richard and Françoise were walking down the beach) because this was really good. I knew the song before because of the game then almost a year ago I was gifted a random box of dvds from a friend and this movie was in it so I finally got around to it. I would love to live in a beach like that as long as there isn't guys with guns around and no Richard.

The Beach

If you're looking for a descent mystery (which was what I wanted), it won't happen. Granted that the intriguing story catches your attention to begin with, prepare to be suffocated in the sand and left with a salty, dishonest taste. Danny Boyle's 1996, Trainspotting, was an equally brilliant film as it was shocking. It did great for the man and put him right on the map. As one of his most recognizable films along with Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, it's tough to mention his few duds. The Beach is one of those. After arriving in Thailand, Richard (Leonardo Dicaprio) sets off on a trip with a french couple to a supposed, secluded beach. All this sets up the story nicely, but as soon as the mystery sees a light discovery it loses attention. With Dicaprio playing the protagonist and a decent sounding plot, The Beach marks a tick for interesting - and it's all that to begin with. But like many great sounding films, they pull you high above your seat and drastically let go.This is the story's biggest weakness. It tries to be clever and different, but it isn't. Yet it's not bad, just mildly disappointing -so it loses attention, the thing it seeks. The Beach will remain a decent watch with nothing groundbreaking, nor imaginative and nor productive. It's a seductive slap in the face to say the least.
