Dark Habits

𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥. A party of nuns on heroin with a pet tiger in the garden. Woman on the run. Sing-a-longs. Book burnings. A bombardment of Pedro's favorite women all in one. At their finest, at their funniest. My favorite scene is of Mother Superior talking about the importance of music and its meaning in life while cutting up a phat line of coke with a Hail Mary card, nonchalantly. Though the plot is lean, the film carries itself with its wonderful performances. Not only do great one liners move things along, but it's a lot of fun to bumble about with all the characters here. Still John Waters-coded, but bearable in how light and fun it is. Other favorite lines: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴. 𝘈: 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘶𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘴. No recubre una premisa en concreto pero si estabiliza personajes sinceros y irónicamente divertidos, Irreverencia desde la escritura de un no experimentado Pedro Almodóvar que fácilmente se pudo haber hecho camino a hollywood gracias a este cuento divertido de monjas drogadictas y lesbianas.
