3.5 stars for the goofy raccoons and the consistent ghibli style + animation

Because 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘯 won't come out for ages and I won't know what it's about, I've only ever watched scenes of this, in search of the racoon ball sacks, but to no avail. Much imagination in this one. With narrative structure that blends the dream and imagined. The shapeshifting and incredibly artistry that comes along with thinking about what failed shapeshifting could look like. It's about aging too. Mutiny. How does one keep up with society? What do we abandon as we age? What do we get to keep? If there's anything worth keeping at all? Though I found some portions clunky, that's what makes this film. Life. Anthropomorphic, sure. But who are the real animals? What ounce of intellect do we actually have when it comes to minorities? When it comes to people who live below the belt? Every riot was worth it. Every battle born bold. Every strive towards betterment, even in illusion, is a stab at idealized perfectionism that must be meant with earnestness because if we don't try at all, where do we go?
