Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World

“This machine is so ugly that it's beautiful.” As for as Werner Herzog documentaries go, this is one of the more erratic ones in terms of quality. It jumps around to many different, and interesting, ideas without too much cohesion. At one point we’re talking about the internet, then we jump to video game addiction and allergic reactions to radio waves. I guess the “internet” is such a vast and general object that it makes sense it would touch on so many different things, I just wish it was more focused. I do enjoy Herzog’s deeply existential machinations, it’s very humorous when he goes off on a tangent in front of normal people.
