TODAY'S EPISODE FOR MEN ARE BULLSH*T: SODERBERGH, YOU PRODIGIOUS FOOL! YOU CREATED A CHARACTER, also A REAL LIFE'S NEGA-WISEAU, AND YOU MADE THIS HAPPEN. SHAME ON YOU! See us next time on next episode, analyzing dualities of men and women and the American Dream BS in Tangerine. On the same time (5:00 AM. on Wakanda) and same site. Jokes aside, this is an intriguing and alarming story of how an independent film of its own, can become 'shirk', as well as a personal part of the people who participated in it. It could be a smaller/short film of yours and with fewer resources, but it's the beginning of something that will change your life, either for the worse or for the better. Shirkers symbolizes that and little else. As it says in a user in Letterboxd: "In a parallel life, this movie would be the panacea." To conclude, this was a emotional rollercoaster and a untold piece of cinematic story, that leave me cheering. You know what, i need so bad to make my own movie.

Shirkers

The footage of shirkers, the fictional story, is so aesthetically-pleasing, with its beautiful colors and dreamy feel. And Shirkers, the documentary, is deeply thought & felt. An incredible portrayal of/insight into a vile, despicable man that betrayed trust, killed their—Sandi Tan, Jasmine Ng and Sophie Siddique—and countless other people's films, and strained relationships along the way. The jabs at him had me living, my favourites being likening him to Nosferatu, and incorporating score that sounded or was actually from Peeping Tom!! Ahhh that's what you call cínémà. While also doubling as a love letter to the time and place, dreams and friendships that shaped these women. Left me feeling inspired and wanting to make things with my friends. I'll watch anything Tan makes next.

Sandi Tan, many thanks for bringing such trauma to the face of film. This documentary mixed with scenes from a missing movie is about loss, absence, the nature of searching for your very own child through the estranged manipulations that make us ponder, for years on end, why an action was committed, how did manipulations go so far, invest and corrupt the purity of our very selves? It's also about how we keep the friends, the people we love, how we treat trauma, how we forgive. Unlike any other documentary out there--where the truth permeates from the screen.

Esta catarsis de hacer las pases con los traumas del pasado permiten al espectador encontrar reflexiones sobre la creatividad y la perdida de la motivación cuando todo esta en su momento mas decepcionante.
