Still Walking
"Three years later, Dad died. I never did get to a soccer match with him. Mom bickered with Dad until he died, but she died soon after him. I never did give her a ride in a car." We like to believe there will always be a “next time.” Next weekend. Next summer. One of these days. We put off small gestures—a visit, a meal, a shared laugh—because life feels busy, and we assume our loved ones will always be around. But the truth is, life moves faster than we expect. It doesn't wait. It moves on silently, stealing days and people while we’re too busy to notice. This film reminds us that the people we love won't always be there waiting. While we're caught up in our daily routines, our aging parents or grandparents sit in quiet homes, waiting. So don’t wait for tomorrow. Call them. Sit with them. Tell them you miss them. And thank them while you still can. Because no amount of mourning can bring back the presence of someone who was once just a phone call away.
