Shit we were just watching Hannibal two days ago so this was an ice chest being dumped on us (filled with assorted beer cans). Don't know how they all did it, but here is that astonishingly beautiful man, freshly chisled from Mount Olympus, transformed into a world-weary husk of a teacher who's lost his way in the classroom and in life. Whole thing feels post-crisis even, more of a midlife denouement. Ha, their scientific approach has about as much standing as Herbert West, but the film is riding a fault line. Plays with some very triggering material. Is it dissecting just these characters, a distinct national drinking culture, or wider-ranging humanity? Probably a, b , and c. Much to think about. I don't wish to dwell in oblivion again, though I do wish we could've found out what animal he was thinking of.
