Diary Entry forA Real Pain
kieran culkin is so deserving of all the flowers he's receiving for his performance this award season, that best supporting actor oscar will be his for sure. i also feel like the industry isn't appreciating jesse eisenberg's performance as much as it deserves to be. he also did an amazing job for his directorial debut, i really loved the softness and warmth of the cinematography and the soundtrack and the colour palette. the script was amazing, to portray pain and generational grief in such a way was beautiful. a new 90-minutes long favourite for sure!

I love everything about this film! It’s calm and relaxing, even though it’s packed with emotional depth and a hint of sadness. The story feels so genuine, and the emotions hit just right—nothing feels forced. Plus, the warm vibes and stunning cinematography make the whole thing such a beautiful experience. And I have to mention Kieran Culkin’s performance—he was absolutely incredible! I couldn’t take my eyes off him from start to finish. His acting was so on point, every little gesture and expression felt meaningful. Give him that award already!

A Real Pain
Light and Vague Spoiler Warning As I add films to my ever-growing list to watch, I decided to watch more movies from the Oscars season, starting off the list with A Real Pain. So far, A Real Pain has become my favorite film from 2024. The performances are phenomenal; the cinematography is mesmerizing, and the story is great. This movie is all about pain. It's an uncomfortable watch, but I believe that due to the pain produced it perfectly captures the entire idea behind the film. The contrast in our main characters may seem like complete opposites, yet it's that pain. The pain they share is what brings and holds them together. I refrained from giving the film a perfect 10 because I greatly disliked how inhumanly apathetic David could be at times. I felt his behavior didn't reflect his personality throughout the film. Otherwise, the film was incredible, I was blown away by how amazing A Real Pain was. 9/10.
