The Fabelmans
“sometimes we cant just fix things…and all we can do is suffer” oh wow this just hit a little too close to home. a boy who wanted to pursue filmmaking (or any form of art) but a family member minimizes it to just being a hobby and saying you wouldn’t earn enough from it made me feel like i was being stabbed over and over again. throughout the movie you can see how life takes it course, how it showed that some things in life its just out of your control but you would so desperately want to at least get a grasp from it that you try to fix it just to end up getting hurt even more. it just made you feel so many emotions and its so beautifully acted as well. there’s also so many sequences in the movie where i just gasp because of how good the camerawork is, its just such a beautiful beautiful film to look at.

David Lynch playing John Ford was very cool to see, which really made me realise I’m a film nerd. Oh well, it’s a good film with some great shots and moments. Spielberg is undoubtedly on the greats even if he has had some dross over the past decade.
The Fabelmans
Ok, so maybe I shouldn't have seen this movie with my father who projected himself as the Paul Dano's character of my family cause he was spilling shit all the film, but still, it was a cute movie I guess, I think it is beautiful how Sam discovered himself, and how his mother was so freaking lost and no one understood her, she was selfish yes, but as she said, 'You do what your heart says you have to, because you don't owe anyone your life.' The scene where Sam has a panic attack felt so personal, seeing him vulnerable with his father and realizing that he cannot live for his father's expectations FELT SO FREAKING PERSONAL. Anyways, I'm a sucker for Paul Dano so I liked this movie, that's all I have to say. ❤️
