finally got around to watching this and i have so many things to say that i can't formulate in proper sentences so bear with the mess of this review. cannot believe matt and ben were in their 20s when they wrote the script for this. like WOW. i am flabbergasted. this movie in no way feels like it was written by a university student. this both healed me and undid years of therapy for me. i see myself in will so much. i too have fear of abandonment as a result of child abuse. i too run away from things before they can possibly turn bad. i too need someone to tell me that what happened to me wasn't my fault. i'm still crying as i'm writing this down and the movie ended 20 minutes ago. matt damon, you're really growing on me. i'm sorry for being a hater.

tagged along to my brother's first watch. still can't believe 20 something matt damon and ben affleck perfectly wrote down what it feels to deal with your childhood abuse once you've become an adult. didn't cry as much this time but still cried!

Good Will Hunting is a pretty fantastic time with an amazing screenplay and convincing performances. Despite the story being very predictable, it’s done so well that you just enjoy it for what it is. A sad, yet beautiful film.
