Unpregnantis a film with a lot of charm, but a plot that is utterly predictable, and a subject matter that felt far too serious to be made into a lighthearted buddy comedy. Never Rarely Sometimes Always treats the subject matter much more kindly, and doesn’t need to rely on comedy to get its point across. I could tell exactly where this film was going to go, and to no surprise, it did exactly what I thought it was going to do. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table, and really only works because of the chemistry that the two leads have. Overall a pretty disappointing film, especially when a far superior film came out earlier in the year.
