sucks that such an interesting premise with a stacked cast was wasted on this. the weight of the Holocaust is barely there and honestly i would’ve preferred another dark, heavy WW2 movie than this trying-to-be-feel-good movie. also, this might be the art history student in me but i would’ve loved for the movie to dive deeper in some of the art’s history, all we really got was two sentences about the Madonna of Brugesbeing the only sculpture of Michelangelo to have left Italy while he was still alive.
