The Godfather Part II
People talk about power and legacy. I’m distracted by how criminally attractive everyone is.

The Godfather Part II
Probably, objectively, the greatest film ever made. It’s perfect, down to each frame, truly a work of art. Better than the original, and a film which will be talked about until the end of cinema. Al Pacino is so cold you can feel his pain through the screen, unbelievable.
The Godfather Part II
I want to start this review by saying this. This movie tried doing something astronomically bold, and I respect the fuck out of it. Making a prequel and sequel in one film is an epic move, and the best part of this film holds. However, I thought the prequel portions were much more intriguing than the sequel parts. It shows how likable of a character Vito is for me to consider him my favorite in two movies with two different actors. Seeing Vito's rise to power was very engaging, and I wish we got much more of it since the film focuses on Michael's struggle to keep his control. To my surprise, I found myself very disinterested in Michael's story. I felt like the shift from movies makes Michael a much worse character. Where the ending in The Godfather felt climatic and justified, the ending to this movie feels repetitive and undeserving. With all this said, I still think The Godfather: Part II is a good movie that attempted (and succeeded) the brave move of making a prequel and sequel. I'm logging it as a 7/10.
