Steve
such a beautiful and tough movie with a heartwarming ending. moving performances from everyone but especially cillian and jay were amazing.
Steve
Steve has great performances from both young and not young actors, bold visual choices that surprise, though don't add much but flair, and an overall nuanced exploration of complex themes. But I won't remember it for them. What I will remember it for, is the short scene in which a blond yuppie prick (the character probably has a name, but I don't want to give him the respect it would take to spend three second to check it out, and yes, I know, explaining this took much longer than actually checking, but it's a matter of stance, not laziness) comes to the school and tell the teachers that the institution will close in six months. Typical rich man bullshit. But what is truly striking, is that he does not deliver the news himself. No, the asshole wants to be liked and cool, and relatable, and understanding, as most businessmen and politicians want to pose as. So, he makes his secretary do it for him, making a person he controls destroy the lives of other people he controls. That's how capitalism works, that is how governments work, and that is how these forms of "social aid" programs by the rich work - they give some hope, so they can get a bunch of tax cuts and diversify their portfolios, and when these portfolios don't need any more diversification, they obliterate people.
Steve
Visually beautiful, good topic even tho it's heavy, good perfomance from the actors, breath-taking, it's kinda triggering me and make me anxious the whole time, but still this movie is confusing me. I think Steve really love these problematic kids. This movie is like what inside my head right now, chaos and messed up everytime.
Steve
the most stressful situation I could ever imagine, cramming it within a day and i just thought the children weren't delve enough but maybe it's for the best, it's a short yet stressful film to watch
