“Winning has a price. And leadership has a price.” – Michael Jordan Now, I watched this a while ago… but reviewing it now just reminds me why The Last Dance still holds a firm spot as one of the best sports documentaries I’ve ever sat through. From the very first episode, the pacing had me. The way it jumps between timelines, the way stories are told—layered, emotional, raw—it doesn’t just show you highlights of greatness, it builds them. Every moment, every interview, every beat of that 90s soundtrack feels surgically placed. The editing is immaculate. It doesn’t just tell a story, it performs one. Yes, it’s about basketball. But honestly? It’s about obsession, leadership, ego, sacrifice, and greatness. And it hits just as hard whether or not you know the triangle offense or who Scott Burrell is. I’ve recommended this to every sports fan I know, but even people who couldn’t care less about the NBA came back to tell me how much it grabbed them. Jordan might’ve made the shots, but the team behind this doc didn’t miss either. 5 stars. No question.
