Greenland

[MINOR SPOILERS]: there were times where i yelled at the characters for being stupid but otherwise this movie is fine. sidenote: if a crazy guy tells you to give him your band, the one you know you wont be using anymore, just give it to him. also planes have weight and capacity limits, you cant make it to your destintation if you crash. 7 out of 10 stars

Greenland

Greenland still is a pretty solid watch! Yeah, there are some scenarios that don’t make a lick of sense, but it’s what makes the film so entertaining. There are really some great action sequences, and the disaster here really warrants these sequences. Just a (more or less mindless) fun, entertaining time!

Greenland

Greenland is the typical disaster film, and doesn’t deviate from what’s been done before, but man, was this film entertaining. Disaster films really are a pleasure to watch, and I find myself enjoying them, no matter how bad they are. For a majority of the film, I could feel my chest tightening and my pulse racing, meaning that the film did its job. While I may be able to sigh a breath of relief, as this was discussed in Werner Herzog’s Fireball, but it still is a terrifying prospect to think that this is something that easily could happen. I can understand why they’d get a bigger name like Gerard Butler to fill the lead role, especially knowing that he has collaborated with the director in the past, but this easily could have went to a smaller actor and still been just as entertaining. That being said, Greenland is a fun disaster film that may fall into nearly every cliche that’s been previously set, but it’s still a fun and engaging time in the end.
