I Swear is honestly exceptional — and I completely understand why it’s already receiving the recognition and awards attention it has. First and foremost: Robert Aramayo. What a performance. His portrayal of Tourette’s syndrome is handled with such care, nuance, and respect. It never feels exaggerated or performative. Instead, he brings a quiet authenticity to the role that allows the audience to truly understand how the condition shapes everyday life — not just internally, but within schools, workplaces, and wider institutions. There’s a dignity in the way he approaches it that makes the character feel fully human rather than defined by diagnosis. Maxine Peake as Dottie is equally remarkable. Every time she’s on screen, there’s this grounded warmth. The way she speaks, the way she carries herself — it feels lived-in and genuine. You can sense a real compassion in her performance, and the companionship between her character and Aramayo’s feels sincere rather than sentimental. It’s subtle, but deeply affecting. What makes the film stand out most is how eye-opening it is without ever feeling preachy. It invites reflection. It makes you reconsider how society responds to difference, and how small acts of understanding can mean everything. I’d genuinely recommend everyone watch this if given the chance. It’s thoughtful, moving, and handled with real integrity — the kind of film that stays with you long after the credits roll. An outstanding piece of work.

I Swear

Genuinely obsessed with this movie. The unpredictability is crazy and John keeps you on edge the entire time with his Tourette syndrome. It’s funny, shocking, emotional, everything. Somehow unhinged and wholesome at the same time. Robert Aramayo absolutely bodied this.

I've seen several videos about Tourette Syndrome, and to be honest, I only learned about this syndrome two years ago through videos on YouTube, I sometimes feel sorry for their lives and their way of socializing which is sometimes interpreted as an insult by others, but that's not the what their point. This movie is very inspiring and informs people about Tourette Syndrome, I hope you guys will watch it and know more about this syndrome.

Même si c'est comme beaucoup de biopic, je dirais que son message sur le syndrome de Gilles de la Tourette vaut vraiment le coup d'aller le voir surtout pour ceux qui ont entendu des fausses choses ou peu entendu parler

I Swear

Powerful, a true Bildungsroman. Inspired to watch in light of recent events. The final act was especially great.
